Dr Williams, is Sedari’s Chief Executive Officer. Sedari is a professional services and technology management company focusing on the domain name registration business, guides top level domain applicants through the entire continuum of ICANN’s new TLD application process and, most importantly provides a robust fully outsourced Registry Services Management Platform (RSMP) for string owners to manage their TLD operations.
Dr Williams is a recognized expert in Internet policy and governance and has worked across the spectrum of ICANN operations, as well as for global registries and registrars. Highlights of her recent work in the domain name registration business include:
- Working for ICANN Brussels as the lead policy development specialist for the introduction of new top level domains and on contractual conditions for registry Operators
- Working for ICANN Los Angeles as the application process designer for the 2004 sponsored top level domain name round
- Working for ICANN Los Angeles as the Chair of the Sponsorship and Other Issues evaluation team for the 2004 sponsored top level domain name round
- Expert witness for the ICM Registry International Arbitration about the .xxx registry application
- Deputy Chair of Board of Directors for the .au Domain Name Registry
She has a Doctorate in Information Technology and Law on the globalization of regulation and its impact on the domain name system and a Masters in Communication on regulating the Internet and privacy protection.
In an earlier phase of her career, she spent several years in Australia’s Federal Parliament working on telecommunications issues, health policy research and environmental issues.
