Yesterday, on 17 December 2012, ICANN held its Prioritization Draw in Los Angeles to determine the order in which initial evaluation results are released. The draw influences how quickly an applicant may release a new extension to the public.

Each applicant had the opportunity to purchase a ticket to participate in the draw. Nevertheless, every applicant received a priority number regardless of whether a ticket was purchased. The advantage of buying a ticket was to receive a low priority number. for more

In August 2012 ICANN held a meeting in Brussels regarding the technical details of the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH). ICANN has awarded the TMCH contract to Deloitte and IBM. Deloitte will be responsible for trademark validation and authentication while IBM will maintain the database and administer Sunrise and Trademark Claims. Both are expected to subcontract IPClearingHouse BVBA (CHIP) in order to facilitate these services. for more
