Franz Josef Pschierer

CIO and IT-delegate of the Bavarian Chancellery

PschiererAfter completing his studies at Maristenkolleg in Mindelheim, Germany, Franz Josef Pschierer served as a Reserve Officer in the German army. Following his service, he began studying Economics and Social Science at the University of Augsburg after being awarded a scholarship from the Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung (Konrad Adenauer Foundation). He successfully completed his Master's degree in 1983. From 1984 to 1986 Mr. Pschierer was employed in the Public Relations department of the Schwaben Chamber of Commerce. Later, he worked as Editor of the Deutschen Handwerks Zeitung (German Trade Newspaper) and following this, was appointed as the publication's Deputy Chief Editor in 1989.

Presently, Mr. Pschierer is active in local politics as a council member for the Unterallgäu community and since October, 1994, has belonged to the Bavarian State Parliament. From 2003 to 2008, he acted as Chairperson of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology in the Bavarian Parliament. Mr. Pschierer is also the honorary president of the Allgäu-Schwaben Music Association.

Mr. Pschierer has acted as State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance since October 30th, 2008. On May 19th, 2009, he was appointed as Delegate for Information and Communications Technology of the Bavarian State Government.
